LED Bulbs

There are a variety of different types of LED bulbs on the market. Below we'll go over each type and what they replace:

• Type A LED Light Bulbs - A-shape bulbs, regularly referred to as "standard," are the most widely-available type of bulb. These bulbs are frequently used in lighting fixtures, lamps, and recessed spots all over the house. Incandescent A shapes have been lighting up homes for a long time. They're available in three sizes: A15, A19, and A21.
• Type B LED Light Bulbs - BR, or bulged reflector, bulbs feature a reflective coating that emits directional light. This cone-like beam varies from a narrow spot to a wide flood angle. Its spot bulb boasts a higher intensity at the center of the beam than a flood bulb of the same wattage. This kind of light bulb comes in three varieties: BR20, BR30, and BR40.
• Type C LED Light Bulbs - C-shaped light bulbs are crafted to emulate a candle flame in two distinct forms. Blunt-"torpedo" or "bullet" shaped- and bent, "chandelier"-style tips are both available. These bulbs come in four sizes, C7, C9, C11, and C15.
• Type G LED Light Bulbs - G, or globe, light bulbs are designed with a spherical shape for a wide, even distribution of light output. Several sizes of globe bulbs are available, such as G16.5, G25, G30, G40, and G50.
• MR LED Light Bulbs - Featuring built-in pressed glass reflectors, MR (Multifaceted Reflector) bulbs are designed to deliver directional lighting by directing light at accurate angles. Initially utilized in slide projectors, the MR range has since been incorporated in landscape lighting, recessed lighting, track lighting, and other projects demanding accurate directional lighting. MR11 and MR16 are the two sizes of these light bulbs.
• PAR LED Light Bulbs - Parabolic aluminized reflector (PAR) bulbs are optimally employed to shed light on certain areas. These are often used in downlights, floods and spotlights in homes and businesses, as well as in recessed lights, landscape lighting and display fixtures. PAR light bulbs come in four sizes, referred to as PAR16 through PAR38.
• LED Tube Light Bulbs - LED tube bulbs are engineered to take the place of conventional T5, T8, T10, and T12 fluorescents.
• Type S LED Light Bulbs - S-shaped bulbs, commonly known as straight miniature bulbs, feature a bulbous top and straight sides. There are 5 types of S-shaped bulbs available: S6, S8, S11, S14, and S19.

LED bulbs are used for a wide range of applications, from residential housing to commercial buildings. They are highly energy-efficient, using up to 90% less energy than incandescent bulbs and lasting up to 25 times longer. LED lighting is one of the most cost-effective solutions available for long-term energy savings.

When selecting an LED bulb, several key factors must be considered. Equivalent Wattage is one such factor - it refers to how much energy is needed to produce the same amount of light as, for instance, an incandescent, fluorescent, or HID lamp. Generally, LED wattage is 1/4 or 1/5 of what incandescent lamps require. Additionally, LED lumens (a measure of brightness) can range from 50-100 lumens below or above what a 60-watt incandescent bulb produces. Finally, LED color temperature (how the light appears) is a factor - for example, 2700K-3000K produces a warm white hue, while 5000K emulates natural daylight.

LED bulbs offer an array of advantages, including an increased lifespan of up to 20x compared to traditional lighting products, the most economical energy consumption, a higher quality of light, and an eco-friendly production process void of mercury compared to fluorescent and CFL lamps.
